On Saturday, October 20th, the Southern Connecticut Chapter of HOPE worldwide will be hosting Hoops for HOPE. Over 30 players will participate in team basketball games for 12 hours (9:30 AM – 9:30 PM) with the goal of raising $20,000 for Early Childhood Development programs in Southern Africa. The event will take place at Fairfield Woods Middle School located at 1115 Fairfield Woods Rd., Fairfield, CT.
Our focus is on Early Childhood Development programs because of the dire need in these communities. Research has shown that helping children to become strong and healthy in early childhood can change the course of their adult lives and therefore transform communities. Through these programs vulnerable children have access to quality preschool and parents receive the training and tools they need to help their children succeed. Currently, 25,000 children are served every month through these programs, which benefits the families and communities.
